Mini Haul 3: Nail Polishes

I am slightly addicted to nail polishes. When I see one I like I automatically have to purchase it. I think the name is "impulse buying".
Here are the three I picked up in a recent shop.

Essie - #72 Peach Daiquiri

Rimmel London - #704 Sweet As Sugar

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine - #309 Blackberry

I love all three of these colours, peach daiquiri reminds me of being on holiday, sitting in an upmarket restaurant, sipping drinks and looking at the ocean view. Sweet As Sugar, I bought simply because I thought the name was adorable and as a new sweet shop has been opened in my high street it seemed justified. Well that's what I told myself. Blackberry is perfect for the inconcident weather we have in England. As the weather is constantly changing from roasting hot to pouring with rain, this colour is perfect as it's not too dark nor too light.

*Next blog will be a review of the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine

That's the final part of my mini haul. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading.

Mini Haul 2: Lip Products

Hey everyone,
So continuing with my mini haul in my local drugstores the other day...

Rimmel - Apocalips liplaquer

(3 for 2 on all Rimmel makeup at Superdrug)

I really like the product itself, one because i love applying lipgloss and that is what you are doing and two i prefer the look of lipstick than lipgloss which is what the outcome of this product is.

I did feel there wasn't a large variety of colour but as it is a fairly new product I'll give them a chance to hopefully release some more shades.
With reference to the two colours I bought, #303 Apocaliptic (hot pink one) and #101 Celestial (pinky/neutral one) I much prefer #303, which I was surprised at as I usually like a nude/baby pink lip. I liked it because it looked really good with my skin tone (ivory) and made me look more dressed up even in pyjamas, which is sometimes nice when you don't want to wear heels but still want to look remotely dressed up.
Without the promotion, these were £5.99 each, which I think is a reasonable price as the are similar products on the market, YSL Glossy Stain make-up (which I have not tried but will attempt and compare in the future) at the cheapest £22.50.
It stays on for the majority of a night out however I had to touch it up because my lips were feeling bare.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

(3 for 2 on all Revlon products at Superdrug)

I really love this product. Usually with all lip products I find myself having to put more on during the day/night as it has faded or my lips feel bare/dry. I did not need to put on more of this product once. It made my lips feel nourished and look good at the same time. It is very similar to the YSL Sheer Nourishing Lipstick at £23.50 but almost a 1/3 of the price at £7.99.

I bought #075 Lollipop which is a vibrant fuchsia. I was quite surprised by how many colours were already out and because of how pleased I am, I am going to buy some more.

L'Oreal Glam Shine Stain Splash

(Buy 1 get the 2nd 1/2 price at Superdrug)

I personally think this is more of a lipgloss than stain as it did not stay on my lips for more than an our or so. However I did like this product because of the coolness I felt when I applied it to my lips, now I mean temperature wise not style. I really like this colour, #102 Romy, because I like pinky colours on my lips especially in spring and summer, and this looks gorgeous especially with white.

It costs £7.99, which I think is a bit expensive but L'Oreal is a bit more expensive than others because of where it is made. I think this is quite similar to Lancome's Color Fever Gloss, which is quite a bit more expensive at £20.

Overall I think all the products were good and worth buying, there are a few I will be buying again in other colours and a few I will leave with what I have.

I realise I made quite a few comparisons with higher-end makeup brands today, and so I am going to test all of the products I have mentioned in this blog (when I can get my hands on them) and compare them with these products.

18 At Last

Hi everyone, so yesterday was my brother's 18th birthday and he is finally "legally" allowed to go out to clubs, bars and drink.

To celebrate my brother's new age we went to our local pub and drinks were on him. He also went out to a club called Tiger Tiger in Soho with "The Lads"
Let's just say the night went well as he didn't get home till 4:00am.

Being the good sister I am, I decided to make him some fairy cakes.

You're never too old for fairy cakes!

I won't lie they're some of my best work, I will admit the writing is a bit "hicklety-picklety" but they look homemade and quirky, and he likes them.

I bought my brother a belt from Ted Baker, now I know a belt may sound a bit cheap and stingy but take a look at this.

This is a reversible belt perfect for men who need both a black and a brown belt, it is also very stylish and great quality. It costs £40 but is well worth the slightly high price.

Thanks for reading guys, next blog will be on my drugstore shop #2.

Mini Haul 1: Foundations

So last week I went on a mini shopping trip and bought a few bits and pieces from Superdrug and Boots.
As I bought quite a few products I have decided to show you each category separately and give a mini review on each product.

Revlon Colorstay foundation
(110 Ivory)

As you can see from the images above, this is a good coverage foundation and feels fairly light on the skin. However, this is going to sound contradicting, it looks very cakey (on my skin) and it is very noticeable that I am wearing foundation.
However the product is true to it's name and stays on for the majority of the day, I do not think it would last 24 hours like it says on the bottle but you can be the judge of that. Having said that I reckon this would be good for a night out.

*I know I put a lot on my hand in the pictures, it was so it would show up on camera

Revlon Nearly Naked foundation
130 Shell Coquillage

I much prefer this foundation as it looks more natural than the other and still stays on for the majority of the day. However if you have oily skin I would recommend using a setting spray or powder to set it.
For me this foundation has better coverage and looks much better than the colorstay foundation.
So far I have no complaints about this product and would most definitely recommend it to friends.

Both foundations are good, however as the nearly naked foundation is a new formula I think that is what makes it better than the colorstay one. Or maybe it's just me being tricked into thinking because it's a new formula it must be better.

Let me know if you have tried these products and what you think of them.

Spring Picks

Hey everyone, keeping to my word I thought I'd try to do a few blogs this week to make up for how many I haven't done this year.

Spring is finally here and although the weather is still miscellaneous I have started to dress for spring because I am so tired of winter.

Here are my spring picks so far:

KABBALAH - Carvela Kurt Geiger £100

I think these wedges are perfect for summer they look great with dresses and shorts. Now of course with shoes you have to wear them in, so this spring I will be wearing these all the time ready for summer.

MARTLEY TEE - Jack Wills £59.50

For a smart/casual look match this with a pair of disco pants and either heels or flats dependant on the occasion.
I always wear a vest underneath as it's rather see-through.

Dweeb Crop - Topshop £10

This is great for mooching around. I wear this for staying in, making little trips to the high street and even working out. I normally wear a vest underneath, however in summer I may risk showing off my stomach... if (in the unlikely case) it's tanned and toned.

Zara

Even though it's spring and everyone's looking forward to summer, it's still England and we have to expect it to be cold. This sweater from Zara is perfect. I love it because you can dress it up with a skirt and dress it down with jeans/leggings and still keep warm.

Barry M - mint green colour

Barry M - Blueberry

Nails Inc - purple/taupe colour

Rimmel - taupe colour

Barry M - Berry

I love pastels on my nails during springtime, the colours remind me of flowers blooming and how beautiful new growth is, which for me is what spring is all about.
All of these should be available in your local drugstore such as, Boots or Superdrug.

 Amethyst Shell #424

This colour is great for a brighter than everyday look, I usually wear it when going out in the evening and when I'm wearing white or black.

Innocent - Topshop

I love the makeup from Topshop. This light pink is perfect for the day and looks so pretty with dresses which will be perfect for this spring and summer.

Tea Rose #3 - GOSH

This is a really pretty pink lipgloss that looks lovely by itself but also on top of Innocent. I love wearing this with whites.

My tune for this spring is:

On My Way by Charlie Brown

I love this song because it makes me feel like I can accomplish anything. Sounds weird but I think it is great for this time of the year to get us all ready (well for me to get slim) for summer.

Harry Potter World

Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while but the start of this year has been hectic. Time got away from me, and before I knew it, it was April and I haven't written a single post for two months. However I promise from now on I will be blogging at least once a week.

Last week I went to the amazing Harry Potter World, and if you didn't get the hint from that adjective, it was... AMAZING!!

I have never said "Oh My God, wow!" so many times in my life. Harry Potter World is so worth going to, this was quite literally my childhood and going to the place where all the Harry Potter films were made is a once in a lifetime chance/experience that I will never forget.

Now of course being the big kid I am, I got a little bit excited in the shop and bought everything I thought would make me a proper wizard.

A wand - Dumbledore's to be specific

Harry Potter glasses

A (light up) broom

A Gryffindor scarf

Of course all these accessories were "essential purchases".                          Well I'll admit now I'm home they aren't as fantastic as they seemed in the shop but at least I have souvenirs from my trip.

That's all for today, and if you've been to Harry Potter World or you're planning to go let me know and tell me your thoughts.

Like I said sorry for the lack of blogs but I will be doing one at least once a week.

Thanks for reading,
Much love x
