My Tips for a Good Workout

Hey guys, so when working out there are a few things you can do to get the most out of your workout.
Here we go:

  • Have something to eat before - Eating something, even as small as a banana or a few grapes, will give your metabolism the kickstart it needs and help you endure your workout.
  • Plan your workout - Whether you are going into a gym or just doing some exercises planning your routine will help your workout become more efficient and effective.
  • Warm up PROPERLY - Warming up is a vital part of your workout. I know everyone hates it but it really helps you to start your exercise. A proper warm up should leave you with your heart rate slightly higher than average, a little bit sweaty and raring to go!
  • Water - During your workout you need to replenish the sweat coming out of your body by drinking water. This doesn't mean drinking gallons of water but if you fancy a sip or have been working out super hard for an hour go for it! Only you know how thirsty you are during a workout. However post workout you MUST drink water to keep yourself hydrated.
  • Difficulty - When working out most people think they know their maximum capability, however pushing yourself that extra minute, or extra weight or extra few seconds can make a lot of difference in long run for workout and esteem.
  • When to exercise - Exercising first thing in the morning is a lot easier than later in the day. Throughout the course of the day you become more and more tired and come up with more and more excuses. This also means we can say we have accomplished (at least) one thing today which will make us feel better.
  • Company - Exercising with someone else is a lot more fun than by yourself, whether it means going to a class, with a friend/family member or simply walking/running with your dog. Also working out with someone else gives you the motivation to do it as they are relying on you to work out with them.
  • Cool down - After your workout you MUST cool down, your muscles will be nice and warm and thus you will get the ultimate stretch, meaning not as much aching tomorrow!
  • Motivation - Motivation is the key to working out, without it you won't even begin the first tip, so  find something that motivates you, whether it be fitting into a dress for your wedding, trimming down a little, getting bikini body ready (not so much now) or simply decide to get fitter. Use the motivation, whatever it may be, to go into your workout guns loaded and boss it!

New Blog

Hey guys,

So I know I haven't blogged much recently, or at all for that matter, but after a very long summer of relaxing in Portugal with my girls and going on a conservation trip to Costa Rica I am back and ready to blog.

I've decided to go in a slightly different direction with my blog. I will continue to write about beauty but also begin to write about health/fitness. Now I am no expert in this field, (please do not take my advice for health issues -- go see a doctor), however as I am now a A-Level PE student I feel as though I should become healthier/fitter or in my eyes thinner, as over summer I may have eaten one too many ice creams.

So starting next week I will be posting twice a week, one beauty and one fitness blog. I know I have promised more regular blogs before but now I have settled into the school year and my routine I am focused and really excited to start writing again.

Hope you all enjoy my new venture into the slight unknown...

Much love x
